Hey there, folkity-folks! How many of you enjoy a good salty snack once in a while? .... Well, of course you do! We all do and if ya don't, ya just a fool! But when you buy a bag of chips at a gas station or Subway or something, do you ever wonder the history behind them chips? Who created them and what's in them? Well, you've come to the right place. This article will explain to you... the mystery behind Potato Chips and Other Salty Snax!

Doritos

The new logo for Dory... toe. Dory-toe. Doritos, I should say.

One of the most popular of this chips that I see in class everyday for snack is the Dorito. It was created by the company Frito-Lay, which as you can guess - makes the "Fritos" chips. Frito-Lay itself is a division of PepsiCo, Inc. which - as you can also guess - sells "Pepsi" soda. Believe it or not, Doritos are actually made of measly corn and salt. So it's not even a potato chip. It's a tortilla (or corn) chip. What a gyp!

Released since 1964, Doritos are available in these flavors:

• Nacho Cheese
• Cool Ranch
• Spicy Sweet Chili
• Barbecue
• And lots of others!
• Not to mention that they have Collisions! (combinations of flavors in one bag)

Lay's

This Lay's thing is a potato chip, unlike Doritos which is a corn chip. Nevertheless, they are made by the same company. Who would-a thunk? I wouldn't of course. But anyways, these here chipz were founded in 1932 by... Herman W. Lay. The business that sold these potato-ed chips was named "Barrett Food Company", then "H.W. Lay & Company", then "the Lay's Company." In 1960, this company joined with the "Frito Company" (owned by a guy named Dooleylin), which created the "Frito-Lay Company", which later joined with the "Pepsi Cola Company" to make "PepsiCo, Inc."

This is all pretty interesting. It sure is. Now for the flavors... hmmm....
